Population genetics, computational methods, and accessible software distribution
Our lab develops computational methods to study evolutionary processes using genetic data, with a focus on population genetics, phylogenetics, and statistical inference. We combine theory-driven models with modern computational approaches, including high-performance computing and machine learning, to better understand migration, population structure, and evolutionary history. A central component of our work is the development and distribution of MIGRATE, a widely used software package for estimating population parameters such as gene flow and effective population sizes from molecular data.
